Alongside his technical and leadership expertise, Richard holds multiple credentials in cybersecurity, as well as qualifications in human resources, project management, and physical security management. His security management capabilities were further honed through his service in the U.S. Army and in collaboration with NATO. These experiences strengthened his conviction that effective information security requires seamless integration with the broader business and operational objectives. Richard has also had the privilege of working across Europe, Asia, and the Arab Gulf States, experiences that have enriched his understanding of diverse cultures and broadened his international perspective.
He has earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Network Computing & Security from Roosevelt University (U.S.) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer, Information, and Network Security from DePaul University (U.S.). He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and International Law jointly awarded by the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the University for Peace (U.N. Mandated), in partnership with the Centre of Security and Crime Sciences (CSCS) at the University of Trento and the University of Verona. Additionally, Richard has also earned an Executive MBA (EMBA) at the University of Deusto (Spain).
Richard is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). His expertise extends beyond cybersecurity to include a strong understanding of U.S., Canadian, and European data privacy laws, reflecting his comprehensive grasp of global information protection frameworks.
