Eduard Chakhmakhchyan

Eduard Chakhmakhchyan is an emerging legal scholar specializing in international and European law, with a strong academic background and growing practical experience in constitutional, human rights, and international criminal law. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in International and European Law at the Russian-Armenian University, following the completion of his Bachelor of Laws at the same institution. As an exchange student at the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow, he expanded his expertise in comparative legal systems, international treaty law, and civil law, developing a broader perspective on transnational legal issues.

Eduard has gained valuable professional experience through internships and legal positions at leading judicial institutions, including the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Law Office of Gazaryan. His work has involved legal research, drafting judicial analyses, examining comparative and international legal practice, and preparing applications before the European Court of Human Rights. These experiences have strengthened his analytical, legal drafting, and research skills while providing practical insight into constitutional adjudication and international dispute resolution.

His academic interests focus on international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, constitutional law, and comparative legal analysis. Eduard has actively participated in prestigious moot court competitions, earning first-place recognition in an ECHR Moot Court and second place in an International Criminal Law Moot Court on Genocide, while also competing in the Nuremberg Moot Court. He has further enhanced his expertise through specialized programs, including an International Humanitarian Law Summer School, and has presented research at numerous international law conferences.
