Radhika Bhakoo is an international law scholar and legal practitioner with over nine years of post-qualification experience in international trade law, investment law, and international arbitration. She holds multiple advanced degrees in international law and political science, including an LL.M. with a Gold Medal from Amity University, and is currently participating in the Young ITA and Young ICCA Mentorship Program (2025–2026). Her academic and professional profile reflects a strong focus on international economic law, dispute resolution, and global governance.
Her scholarly and professional work centers on international trade and investment regimes, bilateral and multilateral trade agreements, investor–state dispute settlement (ISDS), and public international law. Since 2021, Radhika has served as a Legal Consultant at the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, where she is part of India’s negotiating team for trade and investment treaties. Her responsibilities include handling investor–state disputes, contributing to UNCITRAL working groups, drafting and reviewing international treaties and MoUs, and coordinating with international institutions such as UNCTAD, PCA, WTO-related bodies, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank.
Previously, she worked as a Research Associate (Legal) at the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, where she was directly involved in trade remedial investigations, WTO compliance analysis, and the preparation of India’s submissions in international trade disputes. Her work included research on subsidies, anti-dumping measures, safeguard investigations, WTO panel reports, and free trade agreements, as well as participation in consultations and hearings before investigating authorities of WTO member states.
In parallel with her government and research roles, Radhika has academic teaching experience as an Ad-Hoc Faculty member at Amity Law School and has actively contributed to international legal scholarship through conference papers, moot court adjudication, and participation in global forums on investment arbitration and WTO reform. A member of multiple international arbitration networks, including Young ICCA, Young ITA, LCIA-YIAG, and ArbitralWomen, she brings together rigorous legal research, treaty-level practice, and policy-oriented scholarship.
