Sona Bagratyan

Sona Bagratyan is an Armenian lawyer and legal researcher specializing in commercial law, international private law, comparative law, and dispute resolution. Combining practical experience in legal practice with a strong academic background, she has developed expertise in contract law, litigation, legal research, and cross-border legal issues, with a particular interest in international legal cooperation and access to justice.

Sona currently serves as a Lawyer at Zohrabyan & Partners Law Firm, where she advises clients on commercial transactions, contract negotiation, litigation strategy, and legal risk management. Her work involves drafting and reviewing agreements, conducting legal research, providing legal opinions, and supporting clients in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. Through her professional practice, she has gained experience in contract drafting, dispute resolution, advocacy, and regulatory compliance.

Her legal training has been complemented by internships with the Central Bank of Armenia, the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Lyon, the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, and ELL Partnership Law Firm. These experiences provided her with valuable exposure to legislative developments, comparative legal systems, judicial proceedings, and legal analysis, strengthening her understanding of both domestic and international legal practice.

Sona holds a Bachelor of Laws from the French University in Armenia (UFAR), awarded in partnership with Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, and a Master’s degree in International, International Private, and Comparative Law from the same institutions. Her academic achievements have been recognized through multiple merit-based scholarships. She has participated in specialized programs focusing on arbitration, human rights, and European integration, and was a recipient of the JUST FAIR Fellowship, where she conducted research on access to justice for vulnerable groups. She also achieved notable success in the All-European International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition, where her team received the Best Memorandum Award and ranked among the top five overall teams.

Fluent in Armenian, English, French, and Russian, she is dedicated to advancing legal research, promoting international legal cooperation, and contributing to effective solutions to complex cross-border challenges.
