Thomas Wegmann

Thomas Wegmann is an emerging legal professional and aspiring criminal lawyer with a growing background in litigation, legal research, and procedural law. Currently pursuing a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, Thomas has developed a strong academic and practical foundation in criminal law, private law, and constitutional law while gaining hands-on experience through internships at leading Italian law firms.

Throughout his legal training, Thomas has worked across both civil and criminal practice, developing expertise in legal drafting, case analysis, and litigation support. During his internships at Studio Legale Maiolati and Studio Legale Di Micco, he assisted in civil litigation by conducting doctrinal and jurisprudential research, drafting pleadings and legal opinions, and supporting extrajudicial dispute resolution. He also gained practical experience with Italy’s electronic civil procedure system, strengthening his understanding of procedural law and judicial administration.

Most recently, at Studio Legale Italo Montini, Thomas focused on criminal defense, assisting in cases involving offences against persons and property. His responsibilities included preparing legal submissions, analyzing case files, drafting procedural motions, attending court hearings, and supporting trial preparation, providing him with valuable exposure to criminal litigation and courtroom practice.

Alongside his practical experience, Thomas has pursued specialized training in cybersecurity law, cybercrime, GDPR compliance, private law, organized crime, and the evolving legal framework governing cyberspace. These studies reflect his growing interest in the intersection of criminal justice, technology, and digital regulation, complementing his broader academic focus on criminal law.

Fluent in Italian and English, with advanced proficiency in Legal English, Thomas combines analytical precision, strong legal writing skills, and meticulous attention to detail. As he progresses toward legal qualification, he is committed to building a career dedicated to criminal advocacy, legal research, and the effective application of law in addressing both traditional and emerging legal challenges.
