Zeinab Ashraf Ali is an emerging legal professional with a strong academic and practical focus on cybercrime investigations, technology law, and international business law, combining rigorous legal training with hands-on exposure to corporate, financial, and digital legal frameworks. She holds an LL.B. (Hons.) in Law from The British University in Egypt (BUE), awarded in partnership with London South Bank University (LSBU), graduating in July 2025 with an Upper Second Class (2:1) from LSBU and a 3.2 GPA from BUE. She is currently pursuing a Professional LL.M. in Cybercrime Investigations (Dual Degree) jointly offered by BUE and LSBU, reflecting her growing specialization in technology-driven criminal and regulatory challenges. In parallel, she is in the process of applying for an online LL.M. in International Business Law at Danube University Krems in Austria.
Zeinab has gained diverse legal experience through internships at leading international and regional law firms. At Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy, she worked within the Projects and Finance Department, assisting with project finance and securitization matters, reviewing corporate documentation, and gaining exposure to non-banking financial regulatory frameworks. She also interned at Baker McKenzie in Cairo, rotating between the Corporate, Commercial & M&A Department and the Litigation Department, where she supported legal research, drafting tasks, and case preparation, and observed cross-border transactions and dispute resolution practices. Additionally, she participated in the IEUK 2024 Bright Network Virtual Internship, completing a simulated commercial law case study for Clyde & Co, which strengthened her analytical, research, and drafting skills in an international legal context.
Her academic engagement extends to competitive advocacy and policy simulations. Zeinab advanced to the semi-final round of the IT Moot Court Competition at BUE, arguing complex issues related to information technology law and human rights, and contributed to organizing the competition in a volunteer capacity. She was also selected to participate in the Road to COP30 Simulation organized by UNDP Egypt and BUE, where she engaged in climate diplomacy exercises, multilateral negotiations, and sustainability policy design, gaining insight into international environmental governance.
Beyond her legal training, Zeinab has been actively involved in student leadership and community engagement through the Debate Society, Student Union, and First-Year Experience Program at BUE, developing strong organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. She is proficient in legal research, contract drafting, memorandum writing, negotiation, and presentation. Zeinab is a native Arabic speaker, fluent in English, and is currently learning Russian, reflecting her commitment to operating in multilingual and international legal environments.
