Judge Yassin Abdalla Abdelkarim is an Egyptian judge, legal scholar, and founder of the Cyber Jurisprudence International Initiative (CyJurII), specializing in cyber law, digital evidence, international law, and judicial innovation. With nearly a decade of judicial and prosecutorial experience, he has established an international reputation for advancing scholarship at the intersection of law, technology, and emerging digital challenges.

Currently serving as a Judge at the Asyut Economic Court, Yassin adjudicates financial and cybercrime cases while contributing to the development of judicial approaches to complex techno-legal disputes. Previously, he served as a judge at the Luxor Elementary Court and as a District Attorney within the Egyptian Public Prosecution, where he investigated and prosecuted a wide range of criminal matters, including cybercrime, violence against women, and migrant smuggling, while collaborating with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on capacity-building initiatives addressing transnational crime.

Yassin holds an LL.M. with Distinction from Leeds Beckett University (United Kingdom), where his research examined the role of the judiciary in securing state cyber borders. His scholarship has resulted in numerous books and peer-reviewed publications on cyber jurisprudence, cyberspace sovereignty, artificial intelligence, digital evidence, universal jurisdiction, international criminal law, and smart contracts. His work has appeared in leading international journals, including the International Cybersecurity Law Review and the Journal of Digital Technologies and Law, contributing to contemporary debates on the evolution of legal doctrine in the digital era.

Beyond the courtroom, Yassin is the Founder and Director of Cyber Jurisprudence International Initiative (CyJurII), an international platform promoting research, collaboration, and education in cyber law and emerging technologies. He also serves as a reviewer for leading academic publishers and journals, a judge in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, and a mentor to aspiring legal professionals. Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Yassin is committed to strengthening the rule of law through judicial excellence, interdisciplinary research, and international cooperation in the governance of digital technologies.
